Consumer Protection

Recognizing the difficulty that debt presents to many working families, Delegate Frick has been at the forefront of efforts to curb abusive lending practices. Working in concert with some of the nation's leading authorities on consumer protection, Bill crafted legislation to outlaw some of the most egregious practices of credit card companies. Bill will continue to press these issues in legislation and in public forums, hoping to avoid a repeat of the mortgage crisis in consumer credit.

Sustainable Energy

A longtime outdoor enthusiast, Delegate Frick is a devoted environmentalist. His first legislative initiative created The Jane E. Lawton Loan Fund to provide loans for energy conservation, reduced reliance on fossil fuels, and to foster energy-related economic development. He also co-sponsored the Global Warming Solutions Act, which proposed tough standards to reduce Greenhouse emissions in Maryland. Bill has a 100% voting record from the League of Conservation Voters.

Strong Public Schools

Education is one of Delegate Frick's top priorities. A product of Montgomery County Public Schools, Bill knows that Maryland's strength and future lie in the education of its youngsters. In the 2008 session, Bill fought for record funding for K - 12 education, including additional resources for Montgomery County students. He also helped secure $46 million for school construction and renovation projects in the County.

Accessible Healthcare

Delegate Frick believes that controlling costs and expanding availability of quality health care is of paramount importance. In one of his first actions as a Delegate, Bill voted to expand health benefits to 100,000 uninsured working adults. He also co-sponsored the Kids First Act, an innovative program to help 90,000 uninsured children access the health benefits they are already eligible to receive. He also voted for an innovative public-private partnership to help 30,000 seniors pay for prescription medications.
