Delegate Bill Frick is a proud Marylander, born and raised in
Montgomery County. Bill credits his upbringing in Montgomery County
and his education in the Montgomery County Public School system for
instilling in him a strong belief in public service. After
graduating from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School, Bill earned
degrees from Northwestern University and Harvard Law. He practices
law with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, a leading national law
firm in Washington.
A former activist and Democratic precinct official, Delegate Frick
was chosen to fulfill the term of Delegate Marilyn Goldwater, who
retired in 2007. Bill has long believed in the power of government
to empower citizens and to improve our quality of life. In
Annapolis, he has used his position in the House of Delegates and on
the powerful Ways and Means Committee to improve the lives of
Marylanders in Montgomery County and beyond. Bill was instrumental
in helping to extend healthcare benefits to 100,000 uninsured
working adults, and providing critical resources for schools and
school construction. He is a staunch defender of a woman's right to
choose and an ardent advocate for civil rights. A lifelong outdoors
enthusiast, Bill is proud to have won a perfect "100%" voting record
from the League of Conservation Voters for his work in the 2008
session.
Finally, Delegate Frick is a devoted father and husband. He lives in
Bethesda with his wife, Bethany, and children Katie and Charlie.
